Hand on the Carpet by Andrea Arrubla

This publication features poetry and writing by the multi-media artist Andrea Arrubla. Arrubla’s work revolves around personal histories, institutional critique, and language through accessible mediums that confront professionalized methods of art making.
In particular, Arrubla’s work unveils and exposes the often-internalized adversities experienced by immigrants and their families. In addition to medium format publications like Hand on the Carpet, Arrubla’s work sometimes takes the form of large, object-oriented installations, video pieces, and spoken word.
